New university to provide higher education access to students in rural Pakistan

State Minister for Higher Education and Interior, Balighur Rehman, has announced the a university with specialised courses in the fields of science and technology. This university with be established in the city of Bahawalpur and will start operating next year.

According to the State Minister, the university will be equipped with modern facilities and highly qualified faculty which will benefit students of science and technology in south of Punjab.

Having devised a sound strategy, the higher education department in Pakistan is taking concrete steps to impart modern scientific knowledge to the students of this region. Acknowledging the importance of qualified faculty for the progress of a university and its students, State Minister added: “The faculty of Bahawalpur Science and Technology University will be the best in the county and establishing a department of solar energy within this university is also under consideration”.
