The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center has released new research showing that US fall college enrolment dropped 1.8 per cent in 2012. The largest decreases took place at four-year for-profit institutions and two-year public institutions. These are the same sectors that experienced the largest growth during the recession. The report uses data collected by 1 December each year. This is the first in what will be a series of Current Term Enrolment Estimates Reports.
