New breed of private higher education institutions in Malaysia
With more autonomy awarded to public universities and with decreased funding from the government, public universities need to be more innovative in raising funds to sustain their operations. Several established public universities have embarked on a working relationship with foreign education institutions in setting up private higher education institutions in Malaysia.
