Student population at Dutch universities has reached a record high of 258,000. This is owed to an increasing number of international students who have enrolled for courses in Netherlands.

36,000 international students arrived in the Netherlands for higher studies. Compared to last year, there has been 20% increase in the number of international students. Majority of the students were from Germany, China, Greece and Britain and the most popular subjects are law, psychology and medicine.
