National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) ranked among the 150 World Young Universities

As featured in the Times Higher Education (THE) United Kingdom, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan stands among the 150 world’s top young universities under 50, making it the first and only educational institution in Pakistan to achieve this status.

150 Under 50 Rankings 2016

NUST is ranked by QS World Ranking's as among the leading 50 universities under the age of 50, and is ranked by QS as among top 500 universities in the world. It is also ranked by QS as among top 300 in world in electric engineering.

NUST is a public research university with its main campus in Islamabad, Pakistan and other subsidiary campuses in different cities of Pakistan. Established in March 1991 primarily for the promotion of STEM subjects, it has since then expanded through establishing a more comprehensive curriculum consisting of economics, finance, management and social science degrees.

As of 2016, NUST has over 15,000 full-time students enrolled, of which three per cent are international students; the student ratio of female to male is 27: 73 respectively and over 20 departments with 1,280 academic faculty staff.

THE, a dominant UK-based magazine published the topmost 150 young universities list on the basis of calibrated performance indicators as grouped into five capacities including teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook and published as a guide for students, academicians, university leaders, industry and even the governments.

The ranking was based on NUST’s outstanding educational quality services, exceptional faculty, and international perspective, generating revenues from the industry, research and citations.
