Moratorium on new private tertiary institutions in Malaysia

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin announced a two year moratorium on new private tertiary institutions effective 1 February. He further clarifies that the moratorium does not affect institutions whose applications are currently being processed, existing institutions applied to upgrade their status and foreign branch campuses that are rated high in international rankings, reported the Star Online
