International travel website Trip Advisor recently named Metro Manila as one of the “Top 10 Destinations on the Rise” in Asia. The countries in the top three are: Jakarta, Indonesia; Kathmandu, Nepal, Nepal and Calcutta, India. Other Asian cities on the list are Bangalore, India; Luang Prabang, Laos; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Chiang Mai, Thailand; and the Japanese cities of Kobe and Osaka. According to a Yahoo! report, the recognition comes as the Department of Tourism launches a new international campaign promoting entertainment and lifestyle offerings in Metro Manila, writes Bernadette Joven for The Philippine Star
