Medical education to be developed in Sri Lanka

The Ministry of Higher Education and Highways has announced plans to set up three new state sector medical faculties next year in order to open doors to a larger number of students whose ambition is to pursue medical education.

The new medical faculties will be attached to the Wayamba University, Sabaragamuwa University and the University of Moratuwa and will be constructed at a total cost of Rs. 1,250 million.

Meanwhile Rs. 50 million has been allocated towards developing the already established medical faculty of the Ruhuna University of Sri Lanka.
