Comments by British Council:

This exemption for Malaysian international students travelling to UK and other countries will greatly facilitate students’ preparation to travel and join campuses. Previously, they not only had to deal with seeking approvals to travel but also manage visa applications through VACs working at reduced capacity and available only at Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia government has introduced several measures to support Malaysian students seeking overseas study, this includes allowing an additional VAC to operate in KL, the relaxation for allowing UK students to come into Malaysia to pursue mobility and edu-tourism programmes and this announcement for exemption from having to apply for the MyTravelPass. These are much welcome steps to support students and an important step towards resumption of international study.
