While indicative of average IELTS scores that UK admissions officers can expect to be seeing from different markets, it should be remembered that this data does not reflect English proficiency of the general population. IDP, which administers the IELTS test for non-native English speakers along with the British Council and Cambridge Assessment, compiled the rankings based on reports from 20 countries.
