Legislation for Primary and Secondary Education has recently been reviewed

School education has been given greater autonomy both financially and in curricular decisions, with strong emphasis on school leadership.  A lot of weight is also given to the need to engage in partnerships and in cross-curricular activity.  The demand from Spanish Schools looking for UK partnerships has always been high.  With the new legislation, this is bound to increase.

Primary and Secondary Education is offered by 3 main types:

  1. Estate schools
  2. Concertado (co-financed by Estate and families)
  3. Private Schools.

In secondary, some of these schools offer Vocational Education programmes (Formaciуn Profesional Grado Medio).  Current changes may bring opportunities for UK awarding bodies in Spain.
