The Ministry of Higher Education Kuwait declared acceptance of 2,162 students for overseas scholarships for 2018-19 academic year. Over 900 have been accepted for the UK, with numbers remaining stable from last year - a positive situation given new English language requirements for UK courses. UK institutions maintianing and developing relations in Kuwait through regular visits to the country has also had an impact. The number of US scholarships has dropped drastically by around 40%. At the same time 3,658 students for internal scholarships (local private universities) have been accepted for both degree and diploma programs.
