Internationalization of Colombia’s higher education on track

The internationalization process of Colombian higher education institutions is getting stronger with more scholarly exchanges, joint programmes and student mobility programmes than in previous years.

In January this year, President Juan Manuel Santos revealed that the country is now on the top of the list of nations to be accepted as part of the OECD. If admitted, Colombia would receive an influx of foreign aid earmarked for the economy and state institutions.

Currently, Colombia’s expenditure in HE is higher than average for Latin America and near the OECD average.
