International Education Conference - Programme launch

British Council International Education Services is delighted to officially launch the conference programme.

Taking place at Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 3-4 December, the International Education Conference 2019 will explore the changes happening around us in markets, systems, technology and people. The event will provide solutions to futureproof international strategies to ensure competitiveness in the global marketplace, as well as cutting edge information for those that work with and support international students.

Programme Highlights - 10 exciting items on the agenda this year.

  1. Back by popular demand: confirmed plenary session with Robin Bew - Managing Director of Economist Intelligence Unit.
  2. Matt Durnin, Head of Insights and Consultancy, British Council, explores core, aspiring and peripheral recruitment markets and the opportunities they will present in the next recruitment cycle.
  3. We welcome Dr Eliza Filby for the first time - writer, speaker and consultant who specialises in ‘Generational Intelligence’ helping companies and services understand generational shifts within politics, society and the workplace. Her research incorporates not simply Millennials and the new kids on the block, Gen Z, but all generations. 
  4. Taking place in the capital of Edinburgh - a vibrant city, home to national instiutions such as The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582 and now one of four in the city, placed 20th in the QS World University Rankings for 2020.
  5. Engaging sessions that question and challenge key educational themes such as 'EU Europe - Brexit: Mitigating risks and building opportunities', 'EA - From Mega to Mini-Markets' and 'Structures for Success: The past, present and future the international office setup’.
  6. Opportunity to network and build relations with British Council staff from over 40 countries in our dedicated networking area.
