Indonesia National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) Website: Change of Website Address

The National Accreditation Board of Higher Education or well-known as BAN-PT, is the only accreditation body authorized by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia in improving the quality of higher education, introducing and disseminating the "New Paradigm in Higher Education Management", and increasing relevance, academic atmosphere, institutional management, efficiency and sustainability of higher education.

Accreditation itself is one form of assessment of the quality and feasibility of a University or study programme, conducted by a higher education institution. It has three major functions:
1. Provide assurance that the study programme meets the quality standard stipulated by BAN-PT, so as to provide protection for the community from the implementation of study programs that do not meet the standards.
2. Encourage study programmes / universities to continuously improve and maintain their quality.
3. The results of accreditation can be used as consideration in credit transfers, proposals for allocation of funds, and to receive recognition from agencies.

According to BAN – PT, assessment of study program accreditation is based on 10 standards, those are:
1. Content Standard
2. Process Standard
3. Graduate Competence Standard
4. Educators and Education Personnel
5. Availability of Education Facilities and Infrastructure
6. Management of Study Program
7. Financing Standards
8. Assessment Standards
9. Research
10. Community Service

Each 10 standards will have more detailed sub-standards with different value weights. After the ten standards are assessed, final scores (0-400 scores) will verify which study programme can be accredited A, B, C or NA (non-accredited / unaccredited). In short, to be able to issue a diploma, the study programme need to have a minimum of C Accreditation.

British Council Indonesia has received information that BAN-PT has been facing trouble with their website for the past 6 months. Therefore, they have launched a new website to replace the old one. Below is the link to the latest BAN-PT website for your reference:
