Indian Student Visa issue numbers go up by 6%

After 5 years of continuous dropping in Tier 4 visa numbers due to the closure of the post study work scheme, India has finally seen a turn in visa issue trends. We are delighted to share the latest figures issued by the visa offices from British High Commission, where the number of visa issues under the Tier 4 visa has shown an increase of 6%.

This is a result of efforts by all UK institutions and the British Council India to gain confidence back from Indian students about UK being a great place to study and the global opportunities that a UK degree provides to all its International students.

Though the number of students going to USA, Canada, Australia and other competition countries have also shown an increase – with the UK market declining over years , this year’s 6% increase is certainly welcome news for the UK sector.. We look forward to working with you more going forward and to continue to develop this positive trend in the Indian international student market.
