IIT Madras is now among Asia’s Top 50 institutions

According to the 2016 Asia University rankings released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Indian Institute of Technology-Madras is now among the top 50 institutions in Asia. The institution has jumped 13 places from its position last year and now ranks at 43rd position.

Bhaskar Ramamurthi, director IIT-Madras says that the jump in the rankings is primarily due to two main factors – increase in the number of research publications and an excellent faculty/ student ratio of 1.14/15. The other Indian institutions to feature in top 50 are IISc Bangalore (33), IIT-Bombay (35), IIT-Delhi (36) and IIT-Kanpur (48).

As the talented students graduating from these institutions will be looking for higher education opportunities, we advise UK institutions to engage with them to promote STEM courses.

SIEM, India can offer various online and offline platforms for engagement with the top ranking institutions. To explore engagement opportunities write to Shruti Khanna copying SIEM South Asia.
