HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar recently announced at a local college event that Indian institutions should concentrate on industry-academia interaction.
The minister mentioned that Indian universities should emphasise on the quality of research and innovation carried out at the institution as it will help the country progress at global level in trade and management.

Industry personnel that visit academic institutions should not concentrate on placements alone but should also share their professional experiences with students.

The minister elaborated that this would help young budding students to inculcate better management practices during their course of study which eventually will help them become ethical and smarter professionals which will help India perform better in global trade markets.

Industry-academia interaction is a strong suit of UK universities and colleges, This is a good opportunity for UK institutions to have quality discussions and knowledge exchange with local institutions and their students to help prepare them better for the professional world.
