Houston conference promotes U.S.-China educational, economic, cultural cooperation

Business leaders from China and the United States gathered in this fourth largest U.S. city on Saturday for a conference aimed at exploring potential for bilateral cooperation and partnership. The Third U.S.-China Educational, Economic and Cultural Conference attracted some 200 participants from both countries, who came to share experiences and ideas about the opportunities, strategies and steps needed for business success in the world's largest economy and largest emerging market. The conference "aims to create a business platform which will enhance opportunities for businesses from the United States and China, promote traditional culture and initiate private and business partnerships, which will enhance mutual understanding and development of U.S.-China business relations," said J.P. Li, president of the U.S.-China Educational, Economic and Cultural Foundation which organized the event. The U.S.-China Educational, Economic and Cultural Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides assistance and services to the rapidly-growing Chinese communities in the United States, reports People's Daily.
