Guangxi University of Science and Technology, a university created through the merger of two Liuzhou colleges, announced that it has recently received final approval from China's Ministry of Education. The merger between the Liuzhou-based Guangxi Technology College and Liuzhou Medical College will make the new university the first comprehensive one in the city of Liuzhou, and also the first in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region with medical education. The university will offer full-time undergraduate programs as well as graduate programs in both sciences and arts to as many as 18,000 students. Reports China Daily on 28 April 2013.
