French Institutions attract Indian students via collaborations route

France is actively taking steps to attract students from developing nations like India. French universities and institutions have started offering courses that are tailor made and popular among the students from India as well as other developing nations. There are already over 200,000 Indian students who fly to France every year to pursue higher studies. The number is relatively less because most Indian students cannot speak French. In order to overcome this limitation, French institutions will be offering 1,100 postgraduate courses that are popular among Indian students. These include courses in niche subject areas like - aerospace, nuclear energy, nuclear waste management, marine engineering and more.

France offers lucrative benefits to students such as subsidised tuition fee (public universities only), health insurance, and reimbursement of house rent. Moreover, French Forum of Higher Education has been focusing on collaborating with Indian institutions to offer double degree programs at the postgraduate and Ph.D. levels. They have even opened campuses in India. ALLIANCE (Association of Ecole Centrale de Nantes, Audencia Nantes and ENSA Nantes) has already established collaborations with the top local institutions in India. Hundreds of Indian students have already benefitted from these collaborations with NITs, IITs, Anna University, University of Delhi and many more. Even the Governments of both the countries are working together in order to ensure that Indian students come back to India to work. In order to make this happen, the industrial partners in the EU help the Indian alumni from top French institutions secure top-ranking jobs in India.

It can be concluded that in addition to benefits offered by the French Government, collaborations seem to be working very well for French institutions looking to recruit in India. Indian institutions are always on the lookout for collaboration opportunities from across the globe and are especially keen on UK Institutions due to their global reputation and high-quality of education. SIEM India regularly works with local institutions and can coordinate collaborations between local institutions with a UK institution.
