Fourteen universities in central and western China, including Guizhou University, plan to establish a league of universities

On 18th July, 14 universities in central and western China held an experience sharing conference at Guizhou University in Guiyang, Guizhou. They plan to establish a league of universities. The 14 universities are Shanxi University, Hebei University, Zhengzhou University, Nanchang University, Guizhou University, Hainan University, Qinghai University, Tibet University, Inner Mongolia University, Guangxi University, Ningxia University, Xinjiang University and Shihezi University. They will sign agreements on staff and student exchange, credits recognition, course sharing, etc.. The Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Finance will continue the Project of Improvement on Overall competitiveness of Universities in Central and Western China, to support the local competitiveness of non-MoE administered provincial-level universities. It is part of Education plan of the Central government who will invest 60 billion yuan as part of its 12th five years plan. Reports  Chinanews.com
