The latest ‘100 under 50 Ranking’ by Times Higher Education (THE) saw five universities from Taiwan made it to the list. National Sun Ya-Sen University is placed the highest at 30, followed by National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (55), Yuan Ze University (70), Feng Chia University (89), and National Yang-Ming University (95). Special government funding played a role in the results of Taiwan at the country level, and THE commented that these universities ‘have the potential to be very powerful performers in the future,’ reported Focus Taiwan.
