First college to lecture in English opens in Vietnam

FPT University and Pearson Edexcel Education cooperated to open the first college to lecture totally in English under FPT Education in Hanoi recently.

The first courses offered in the first year under this partnership include Information Technology (IT), Business Administration and Computer-Aided Design.

The curriculums will stay in line with BTEC’s standards.

Graduates will be awarded BTEC diploma in Vietnam after completing six semesters, equivalent to two years, with an optional overseas semester at BTEC partner institutions for international experiences and cultural exchanges.

The total tuition fee for the two-year programme is approximately USD3,500.

Students with average Maths and English score of 6.0 will be accepted to the college without having to sit for entrance examination.

Students can take higher education in the third or final year at FPT University and National Economics University or go study abroad at over 700 universities around the world that recognise BTEC diploma.

Commentary by Nga Bui, Education Services Manager

BTEC is well-recognised by various Ministries and industries in Vietnam since its presence in 2005 through partnership with a number of prestigious local universities.

BTEC HNDs have become a practical approach and an affordable option, offering Vietnamese students international experience while equipping them with relevant skills for the job market or further their study abroad.
