Excellent students also fail the exams to medical school

Hundreds of excellent students, who got 27 out of 30 marks from the university entrance exams, or 9/10 mark for every exam subject, have failed the exams to the Hanoi Medical University (HMU). Several days ago, HMU asked the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) for permission to enrol 150 students for the non-budget training course. However, according to MOET, the principle is that there must not be non-budget training at state owned schools.

Some analysts warned that the rejection of the education ministry may lead to the brain drain, because many of the students may pursue an university education by going to study abroad, and a high percentage of them may stay working overseas after the graduation.

Medical universities generally always set the highest entry points in an effort to recruit the best students for the training major. Meanwhile, Vietnam has been seriously lacking qualified doctors. Reports VietNamNet Bridge.
