David Cameron’s visit to Malaysia in April 2012

David Cameron was the first British Prime Minister to visit Malaysia since 1993. The objective of the visit was to strengthen the relationship between Malaysia and Britain, as well as to discover new opportunities for the two countries to work together, mainly in the areas of trade and investment, defence, science, technology and higher education. David Willets, the Minister for Universities and Science, who was part of the British Prime Minister’s delegation to Malaysia, had taken the opportunity to sign the Malaysia-Britain Joint Statement on Higher Education and Skills with his counterpart, Malaysia’s Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
