Cambridge International Examinations holds outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards 2015 in Bangladesh

Cambridge International Examinations has announced the winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, Bangladesh recently. The awards celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of secondary school learners in Bangladesh in the November 2014 and June 2015 Cambridge examination series.

61 learners from 20 schools celebrate their performance in Cambridge examinations. This year, 22 Cambridge learners achieved the highest marks in the world in Cambridge International AS, A Level and O level subjects. In total, 29 learners attained the highest marks in Bangladesh in a single subject. These students excelled in a diverse range of subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry and Economics. The awards also celebrate the achievements of those learners who have been recognised for ‘High Achievement’ based on outstanding performance in subjects which are not yet so widely taken in Bangladesh , and learners who have achieved the total highest cumulative marks across a number of subjects.

The winning learners out-performed thousands of candidates worldwide who sat for Cambridge O Level, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS & A Level examinations.

Professor AKM Saiful Majid, director of the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, was present at the event as Chief Guest. Other esteemed guests at the event included Alison Blake, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh and Barbara Wickham, Country Director of British Council Bangladesh among others.


Professor AKM Saiful Majid said in his speech, ‘It is very exciting to be among the brightest young minds of the country. I have high expectations for the achievers and for the country.’
