We are delighted to confirm the creation of 90 "Santander-British Council Summer Experience" scholarships.

A programme created to attract 90 university students to the UK this summer, alongside 1,200 online English courses that will be available for three months from September. Candidates must be university students from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and USA. The selected students will travel to spend three weeks in the UK in July 2020 on a full cultural/language immersion programme. Following a tendering exercise that took place before Christmas, the winning institutions that students will travel to are University of Liverpool, Coventry University and East Anglia University.

The scholarships opened for applications on Thursday 6 February at 12.00pm and there will be extensive promotion from Santander bank in the coming weeks. Given the profile of the Santander portal, there are already 555 applications, with an overall objective of 18,000 applicants being received before 30 March.

Congratulations to the three winning universities. In the near future we aim to increase to over 500 mobility scholarships.
