Bangladesh all set to become a middle Income country!

Bangladesh has now made the jump from a low income country to a middle income country according to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

According to World Bank and Asian Development Bank it was presumed that Bangladesh will achieve 6.4 percent growth in GDP. But Bangladesh has outperformed the prediction that Asian Development Bank had made by achieving its growth up to 6.7 percent in fiscal year 2015-16. Bangladesh has reached this position despite the political turmoil in early 2015 that affected export- import business, transport services and other investment in Bangladesh. The growth is the result of brisk domestic demand, higher remittances, private sector wages and public investment. Besides the growth in GDP the country has successfully controlled the inflation rate as well which resulted in 1 percent reduction from the year 2013-14 to the year 2014-15.

Growth in Agriculture, Industry, Services, Export, Import and remittance and increased income contributes more positively towards increased expenditure habit for educational expenses. Higher purchasing capacity creates more interest in having better and more recognised qualifications. The current allocations for education and health expenditure as percentage of the GDP need to be almost doubled from their current meagre levels to improve the situation further.
