Asian Development Bank funds US$90 million to help Vietnam improve education

The fund is provided by Asian Development Bank (ADB) to support Vietnam to strengthen teaching skills and courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and social sciences to equip upper secondary graduates with necessary skills for the labour market.  The project focuses on introducing new training methods and materials in schools.  Curricula will be upgraded with more investment in new textbooks, especially those that provide targeted support for students who are struggling academically.  English language education will also be improved.

The project will run for seven years with an expected completion date of December 2019, reports Vietnam News.
