Summary:

The Ministry of Education announced the first batch of 99 HEIs as demonstration pilot HEIs for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education. Many of these HEIs are top-ranked universities in the country, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University and others.

Demonstration pilot HEIs were chosen based on voluntary applications from the universities themselves, who were then selected and recommended by the provincial education departments and ratified by expert groups of the Ministry of Education. This first batch of  99 HEIs are expected to take the leading and demonstration role in the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Higher Education sector, in terms of teaching and school management, as well as efforts for enhancing the entrepreneurship spirit and capabilities of students.
