"At least 16,500 students have been admitted to Makerere University on the private sponsorship scheme, according to a provisional list released yesterday. The list showed science courses as the most competitive.
According to the details and cut-off points released by the Academic Registrar, the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery course was the most competitive followed by Bachelor of Civil Engineering (day) at 45.8 and 45.7cutoffs points respectively. Humanity courses have taken students with as low as 7.7 cut-off points for Bachelor of Commerce at the Nakawa-based affiliate institution."
